If everyone could loaf under a shade tree in hot weather, sipping a cool drink and making no effort there would be no problem with the air temperature and everyone would be happy.
The imperfect world does not permit the human animal to do that more than a few moments at a time. We can though increase our comfort by observing a few simple rules during the worst of hot weather.
- Don’t wear clothes that are too tight fitting. You need good circulation of the blood.
- Eat light foods like salads and fruits as much as possible and go light on hot and heavy dishes. Eat slowly.
- Wear light clothes and wear a hat against the direction rays of the sun.
- Pace yourself while exercising on a very hot day. You don’t have to avoid exercise altogether, but be careful not to over do it. Like Clint said, a man has got to know his limitations.
- Since there is nothing more miserable than a sunburn in hot weather, treat the sunlight with respect. If your skin hasn’t seen sunlight since last summer and you hit the sun, your probably going to look like a pickled beet, and that is going to hurt.
- Drink plenty of water.
